As a result of experimental studies conducted by Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV (Freising, Germany), it was proven that foodplaced in aluminum cookware can undergo thermal processing (warmed up and cooked) in convection ovens and microwaves. At the same time, thanks to the good thermal conductivity of aluminum, food is not burnt, does not lose its natural or predetermined form, is evenly heatedup and baked through.
Aluminium foil, even without a special coating will not react with food. In addition, the approved range for contact with food of modern insulating coating creates a complete protection against all kinds of reactions caused by the contact with alkaline or acidic food components.
This property of aluminum allows tominimize to the maximum the required thermal processing time (heating or cooling) for products, as well as contributes sufficiently to rather uniform temperature change of the product inside the aluminum container that has a positive effect on its quality.
High thermal conductivity is a key advantage of using containers of food aluminum foil in all the areas of the food industry: bakeries, confectioneries, etc. to achieve the production of the optimum value for money goods.
Aluminum packaging used for long-term storage and preparation of food is an impact-resistant material, and the material, the most adapted to fluctuations in the temperature range (from -70 °C to +600 °C) to which food is exposed during cooking, without the risk of cracks formation, melting, carbonisation or package ignition.

According to surveys conducted by the European Aluminium Foil Association, Düsseldorf, Germany, with the assistance of scientists from Risø National laboratory, Denmark and European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), France,a number of important discoveries were made:
· In the manufacturing process, during theburning, the foil 6 microns and more thickbecomes a 100% sterile, barrier and anti-bacterial material that allows to save and protect from the effects of the environment food packaged in analuminum foil container.
· Aluminium is not an absorbent material absorbing moisture or grease that prevents bacterial growth.
· Aluminum containers impermeability is an exclusive property eliminatingloss and penetration of humidity inside the package, change in smell and taste of the packaged product, and preventing food spoilage due to exposure to sunlight.
· Due to the hardening during the production process, aluminum becomes sterile that prevents the emergence and growth of bacteria, and being an inert material, foil does not support the growth of microorganisms.
.· Lack of taste and smell of foil completely eliminates the risk of mixing the product flavor with smell and taste of the packaging material.
